Gino has never needed much encouragement to turn a recipe into a punchline, and his take on a British classic proved it. Presenting his own version of toad in the hole on This Morning, he corrected Holly immediately, insisting, “First of all, this is not Toad In The Hole, this is Sausage In The Hole.” Phillip asked what made it different, and Gino explained it was thicker, tastier, and packed with fennel, his own spin on the traditional dish. Phillip could barely get the words out through laughter, repeating “it’s got fennel!” as the innuendo landed. Gino ploughed on regardless, telling viewers that when your other half asks what’s for dinner, the answer is simple, a sausage in the hole.
