2. Les Catacombes de Paris, Paris, France 

Underneath the city of Paris are the stacked skeletal remains of over six million people. The tunnels contain the bones of people moved from Parisian cemeteries. Some of the bones reportedly date back over 1200 years. Originally disorganized, the bones were subsequently stacked “artfully” for people to view. The official entrance is through the “Barriere d’Enfer” or the “Gate of Hell”. Stories abound of dark shadows and voices from the walls.
